About the Lion of Judah
What If a Doodle Could Destroy a Stronghold?
In November 2009, at Beltway Park Baptist during a Global Awakening conference, I received a creative download, an outpouring, an instructional teaching, and a mighty and blessed gifting from heaven. I was a wounded artist that did not draw. After not being able to overcome the feeling that I was to carry my art bag with me on the last day of the conference, I sat propped up against the wall unpacking pastels as I listened to the teaching. I was compelled to draw one lion on paper and then a second on cardboard. The first was definitely something new and left that night with a missionary couple on their way to serve in the field. Next came a complete unloosing and release into gifting that I had never known. The result was His face; He is the Lion of Judah. He is mighty and He is gentle; He is fierce and He is tender.
“Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5
The enemy barges in seeking to devour, kill, steal, and destroy. I have lived a lifetime under his tyrannical propaganda. On this night, the Truth broke through the darkness! I was driving and praising all the way home. I kept repeating Eric Johnson’s words from his CD “Create” “What if a doodle could destroy a stronghold?” I walked straight into the house to a pad of paper and again made the doodle that I had hidden for a lifetime. When I had made my mark while drawing The Lion, I had drawn back like a terrified child. I gasped, “Oh no, is that all right? Am I in trouble?” That is when I heard the audible voice of God say, “I created you to do that!” Under His direction, my doodle releases the Holy Spirit’s presence and creativity; that night it destroyed the stronghold that had kept me bound. His five words have changed everything.
Thank you, Jesus!
